Legal Mandate: Tea Small Holdings Development Authority (TSHDA) is a body corporate set up under the Tea Small Holdings Development Law No 35 of 1975.

According to the Tea control Act of No. 51 of 1957 below 10 acres are treated as Tea Small Holdings. However Majority of the Holdings are less than 10 acres and 10 –50 acres category is negligible the term “Tea Small Holdings “ is used as a broad meaning.

All privately managed tea holdings which means tea lands of 50 acres or below and under the management of private ownership are entitled to provide the services of the TSHDA.
